Palma de Majorca, Spain Shops | What to Buy

Alternate spelling: Palma de Mallorca

Recommended Purchases: Visiting Mallorca the most obvious purchase will be the local cultured pearls, which come in every shape, quality, and color you can imagine and are very reasonably priced. As you walk from the ship to the town (very long walk), you will pass many pearl shops. However, Palma is much more than a pearl market. It is a shopper’s paradise with high fashion shops and local crafts for sale along the alleys and narrow streets of the central city. Like in much of the Mediterranean, ceramics have their own local style. The local craftsmen are also famous for their glass work and leather goods. The local wines and liqueurs are a nice way to bring home a little of the local flavor. Dried apricots are a specialty of the islands. Get some of the local almonds for nibbling later.
